Current info about Debian Squeeze for end-users.

I did a minimal installation of stable, then upgraded the installation to Squeeze. At the time of the installation, Squeeze’s installer was not functional. This was sometime in June 2009, so things might have changed.

The XFCE4 desktop is very stable and functional. This is an excellent desktop for most users. The KDE4 desktop has issues. No show-stopping ones, but quite a few noticeable issues. One being transparency is not supported for older hardware and logging out of the session shuts down the computer.

No glaring functionality issues below the desktop. The mythtv frontend packages from debian-multimedia.org work great!
